Action Areas

Orphanage - We have joined hand with Vivekannda Seva Samity, Bankura, at rural Bengal where an orphanage is being aided by LWDF for building an auditorium and taking care of the orphans.A check of USD 7500 was handed over to them on 7th January, 2009.

Project for mentally retarded ones - We are presently working with Behala Bodhoyan, a voluntary organization running a home and rehabilitation center for mentally retarded children. A 13 seater school bus was donated to them on 10th January, 2009 for transporting the mentally retarded ones. General Shankar Roy Chaudhury, President, Living With Dignity, Kolkata, an affiliated unit of LWDF, launched the bus in presence of Prabir Roy and other dignitaries. A home for residential care of these mentally retarded ones is being constructed with the aid of LWDF. The foundation stone was laid by General Shankar Roy Chaudhury, President, Living With Dignity, Kolkata, an affiliated unit of LWDF in presence of Prabir Roy and other dignitaries. Acheck of USD 15,000 was handed over to Sasanka Sekhar Ghosh, Secretary Behala Bodhayan by Sri Sankaracharya Mukhopadhyay, the Secretary of Living with Dignity.

Project for Sanitation improvement - We are working with a voluntary organization in Bankura district of West Bengal where villagers are given free sanitary lavatory to improve upon their life standard. These people use to go to open area for toilet thus spreading airborne diseases.

Arsenic Removal Program - Arsenic and Fluoride is a menace is many villages of West Bengal in India. We could think about adopting a village to provide villagers arsenic free water

Old Age Home - We are planning to assist such organization that considers home for elderly people at their old age when they do not have anyone to how solidarity to them.

Healthcare :

  • Family Health program that will help in bringing up sanitation quality and arsenic free water in Indian villages
  • Mobile Medical Unit Program will help ensure ongoing medical services in rural areas.
  • Health educational outreach for villagers
  • Public hospitals and dispensaries in India, Bangladesh and Srilanka will receive support in cash and in kind
  • Shipments of hospital supplies and equipment will give support to hospital need
  • Waste bins and allied items will help to make Indian cities clean
  • Provide deep wells for pure drinking water

Training and Family Planning :

  • Training in hygiene and family planning in remote areas.
  • Vocational training for women in urban areas.
  • Scholastic fundamentals and preparation for advanced studies.
  • Vocational and skill training for the mentally and physically challenged.

Organize Seminars :
Seminars on college campuses and public meeting places will be organized to raise awareness of illegal drugs and HIV.
